Hotel São João de Deus supports the “Revive a Pilgrimage” initiative in Elvas

Hotel São João de Deus participates in the event “Reviver a Pilgrimage” organized by the Business Association of Elvas, which takes place during the festivities in honor of Senhor Jesus da Piedade and Feira de São Mateus.

The event, which takes place from 17 to 28 September, acquires a new format this year: for the first time, a classification is no longer attributed to each commercial establishment that decorates its shop windows “in the style of the pilgrimage”, with the initiative having a solidarity.

Not letting a tradition of the region die, and reinforcing the importance of boosting local commerce, Hotel São João de Deus joins around 20 local companies, contributing with its balcony decorated with emblematic historical elements and supporting a number of institutions of social solidarity in the municipality.

The Hotel São João de Deus located in the historic center of the Raiana city of Elvas, evokes its traditional roots in the region and invites you to explore its heritage.

Implanted in a historic building built in 1645, which was once a Convent and Military Hospital, the hotel has 56 rooms, meeting rooms, wine cellar, bar, swimming pool and allows a panoramic view over the border city.
