Huawei may launch smartphone with liquid camera

The lens in question is described as a mechanism that moves towards the optical axis of the camera, which allows adjustments to focus on a near or far object more quickly.

It is believed that, in addition to a faster focus, this technology would make sensors such as Time-of-Flight or image stabilization unnecessary.

The patent was approved on April 7 by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) but it is not yet known where this new technology could be applied.

It is highly unlikely that Huawei will integrate it into the Mate 40 series but it is possible that it will be considered for later devices, such as the P50 series.
