Hungary signs an agreement in Cape Verde for the financing of 35 million

The Prime Ministers of Cape Verde and Hungary signed an agreement in the city of Praia today for a 35 million euro credit line to be granted to the archipelago for water reuse.

In addition to this agreement, according to information from the Cape Verdean Government, a letter of intent will be signed between the two countries on the negotiation of the agreement to avoid double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion in relation to income taxes and the promotion agreement and reciprocal protection of investments.

The signing of the agreements will take place as part of the official visit to Cape Verde by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán since Wednesday, when he was received by the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, and by the President of the National Assembly, Jorge Santos.

Today begins with a meeting in the Government Palace, chaired by the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e Silva, during which will be present several elements of the Cape Verdean Executive.

In a communiqué, the Cape Verdean Government presents Hungary as an old partner and country with which “bilateral relations date from the independence of Cape Verde, having been fruitful with the development of cooperation in the field of Higher Education, with the availability of several scholarships, helping a reasonable number of Cape Verdean students to study higher in Cape Verde.

Recently, a cooperation agreement was signed in the educational and cultural field, which provides for the provision of 10 scholarships per year to Cape Verde, as well as technical assistance for the implementation of the Kodaly method in music education.
