Inês Henriques European champion of 50 km march

The Portuguese Inês Henriques won today European champion in the 50 kilometers of march, in Berlin, in the athletics European, joining the continental title to the one of the world, conquered in 2017.

The 38-year-old CN Rio marketer led the race from the start, finishing the distance at 4:09 a.m., with Ukrainian Alina Tsviliy and Spanish Julia Takács being second and third respectively.

Ines Henriques has already held the world record (4:05:56 hours) since August 13, 2017, when he won the world title in London, but Liang Rui withdrew 1.20 minutes to his mark (4: 04.36) on May 05 , in the World of March for Nations in Taicang, China.

This was the first time that the 50 kilometers marched into the European women’s program.
