INTERCASA LIVING & DESIGN: Intercasa Reinvents, Introduces New Areas and Returns in October

Between October 9 and 13, FIL (Lisbon International Fair) will receive another edition of Intercasa. More precisely, the 43rd edition of Intercasa which, this year, reflecting its new positioning, is entitled Intercasa – Living & Design. A change that reinforces that Intercasa is not the same, as explained by Maria João Arruda, the fair’s manager. “The truth is that from year to year, the fair has never been the same, because the status of the main decoration event in the country can not be stopped in time, but in 2019 Intercasa wanted to make this position even clearer, bringing new proposals to professionals and visitors of the event and assuming from now on as Intercasa – Living & Design ”, concludes the manager. Thus, in addition to the name change, there are several new features in the 2019 edition, including three new spaces where visitors can get lost: the LXD Space, the Vintage/Boho Chic Space and the Know the Time Space!

Espaço LXD, is a venue signed by the Lisboa Design Show, which brings together the teaching community in the area of design, designers, trademarks and national industry, in a demonstration of the best creative and productive capacity in Portugal. In this zone, which is both an exhibition area and a show of pieces, innovation is queen. The Vintage / Boho Chic Space, as its name implies, is the area where decoration and pieces of art come together for lovers of vintage style, but also for those who want a laid back, naturally chic and carefree but full of life. And finally the Know Time Space! It is an area dedicated to professional clarification and advice for decoration and remodeling projects, where specialists from different fields (from gardening to carpentry or technology) will be available to assist visitors with free 30-minute consultations.

But Intercasa – Living & Design is not restricted to the FIL space and this year goes out with a script of Decoration and Design in the great Lisbon. In and Out will feature exhibitors dedicated to the fall/winter trends in more than 30 stores in Lisbon. These stores will be identified with the logo of the initiative in the showcase and can also be found through the itinerary that will be made available to visitors of Intercasa Living & Design. Changes that, as Maria João Arruda explains, reinforce that “Intercasa Living & Design is not just an exhibition of interior decoration items and objects, but a fair where visitors can be inspired by the exhibited environments and trends and participate in workshops on decor that respond to modern and demanding lifestyles. ”

The classic spaces, version 2019

What does not change is that, over more than 10,000 square meters, the latest trends in interior decoration, furniture, design, upholstery, and textiles continue to gather, that is basically all that is needed to create that dream house, as idyllic as those of magazines and Instagram pages. This news will be spread throughout Intercasa’s three fundamental and customary sectors: Interior & Exterior, Remodeling, and the Environments & Trends sector.

The Interior & Exterior sector groups trends and continues to occupy the largest area of the event. The Remodeling sector is the space where new products and materials for interior and exterior remodeling can be found, but also the latest in sustainability and technology. Already the Environment and Trends sector is an area where 20 professionals of architecture and interior design will create their proposals for the various divisions of the house from scratch and is, therefore, the most inspirational area of the fair. This year, for the first time, one of these creatives will be awarded the SIL – Ambientes & Trends 2019 Award, given at the Gala Real Estate Awards Awards Dinner. “Another important thing to note at Intercasa – Living & Design”, says Maria João Arruda.

The theme and the ambassadors

Enhancing the changes and classic spaces, this year’s theme is Color, in all its splendid optimism and versatility. As far as ambassadors are concerned, they take on this role Mafalda Galamas, author of the Decoralista blog, who will present different styles of decoration and advise visitors on each one; Rafaela Garcez, certified organizer and consultant KonMari ™, the method created by Marie Kondo; and Vanda Boavida, Feng Shui consultant and teacher, who in the last edition was present as a consultant, granting Intercasa the status of first decoration fair in Portugal, certified by Feng Shui.

Completing the program is a series of workshops, to be announced soon, which take on this year’s format of more dynamic and interactive living talks.

Intercasa 2019 runs simultaneously with SIL – Real Estate Salon of Portugal. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the Fil website. Up to 10 years old is free and there are several packs that guarantee more affordable tickets.
