IPM launches digital version of the first academic journal in Portuguese in Asia

The Polytechnic Institute of Macau (IPM) launched the ‘online’ version of the first academic journal in Portuguese in Asia, created jointly with the University of Porto, the institution announced.

The magazine “Orientes do Português” results from the joint efforts of the Portuguese Language Pedagogical and Scientific Center of IPM and the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto.

The aim of the magazine is to become a repository of what is best produced in terms of academic research in Portuguese in the world, and especially in China and Asia.

The magazine is open to contributions in areas related to Portuguese linguistics, contact of Portuguese and Asian languages, the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a non-native language, translation studies, literary and cultural studies in Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as the cultural, literary and artistic manifestations of eastern territories and communities where the Portuguese language has an influence.
