After the ‘zero’ draw in the debut, against Bragantino, Jesualdo Ferreira won, in the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, the first victory in the technical command of Santos, beating Guarani by 2-1, in Campinas.
Peixe opened the scoring after 22 minutes, through Arthur Gomes, but the home team restored equality in the second half, thanks to a goal by Rafael Costa.
The attempt that ‘unbalanced’ the scales came three minutes after the 90’s, when Pablo Diogo, with a lot of bad luck to the mix, put the ball in the bottom of the own goal and sealed the final result.
With this result, Santos now has four points and ascends to the isolated leadership of Group A of the first phase of the Paulista Championship, with a point of advantage over the runners-up, Ponte Preta and Oeste.
Guarani, who remains with three points, is second in Group D, with one point less than the leader, Corinthians, and two more points than Ferroviária and Bragantino.
