It is next Wednesday, February 12, starting at 10 pm, that Joana Amendoeira and António Vasco Moraes return to Lounge D at Casino Estoril.
On stage will also be Diogo Lucena Quadros on guitar, Luís Roquette on viola and Francisco Gaspar on bass guitar. Admission is free.
Born in Santarém, Joana Amendoeira very early discovered the appeal to be a fado singer and, at the age of 12, won the Great Night of Fado in Porto.
Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to sing in the best Fado houses in Lisbon (Clube de Fado and Sr. Vinho) and in that “school” he absorbed the great teachings of the oldest fado singers and musicians.
Everyone recognized his special voice, attitude, talent and, kindly, passed on his art, poetry and lived stories.
Its route has nine edited albums and several participations in special compilations of Fado, national and international, as well as several prizes (among them, the best Fado album 2008, awarded by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation).
She was invited to perform at several World Music Fairs, such as Mercat de Musica Viva de Vic 2003 (Spain) and Strictly Mundial 2005 (Canada) and distinguished herself on several tours in several countries such as Spain, Italy, Hungary, Lithuania, Sweden, Brazil, Argentina, USA, India and Japan.
António Vasco Moraes
António Vasco Moraes has been a constant figure in the world of fado for over twenty years, having been part of the cast of the most important fado houses in Lisbon.
The leading role that has also gained in many presentations in Portugal and abroad has led him to perform in prestigious theatres. There are two edited albums: “Saudade” (2011) and “Silêncio” (2016).
The fado cycle at Lounge D continues on the 19th with Carmo Moniz Pereira and Peu Madureira, followed by the trio “Fado Marialva” on the 26th of February.
Access to Casino Estoril is free, and from 10 pm, it is for people over 14 years old, and over 10 years old accompanied by their parents. In the game areas, it is for over 18 years.
