João Sousa rises two places to 60th in the world ranking


João Sousa has risen two places in the world tennis ranking and is now in 60th position.

The Portuguese tennis player remains with the number one national status, ahead of Pedro Sousa, who ‘fell’ 11 places to 127th place, and João Domingues, who dropped eight positions to 196th.

Frederico Silva moved up four places to 202th, while Gonçalo Oliveira went down the same number to 265th.

Novak Djokovic is in the lead followed by Spanish Rafael Nadal and Swiss Roger Federer.

In the women’s ranking, Australian Ashleigh Barty remains at the top, ahead of Czech Karolina Pliskova and Japanese Naomi Osaka.

The best ranked Portuguese woman remains Francisca Jorge, in 525th place.
