Jorge Jesus takes Al Hilal to the conquest of Saudi Supercup
Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus won today’s first trophy in Al Hilal’s technical lead by leading 2-1 to Al Ittihad in the final of the Saudi Arabian Supercup in a game in London.
Brazilian midfielder Carlos Eduardo, a former Estoril Praia and FC Porto player, opened the scoring for Al Hilal in the 34th minute, which increased the lead after the break at 62, through striker Gelmin Rivas.
Al Ittihad narrowly reduced to 67 minutes with a goal from Moroccan midfielder Karim El Ahmadi but failed to prevent their rivals’ success, with Benfica’s Peruvian striker Andre Carrillo being a totalitarian.
Under the leadership of Jorge Jesus, who has guided Sporting in the last three seasons, the Saudi double champion has won the Portuguese Supercup for the second time, which has been disputed only since 2013, reissuing the success achieved in 2015.
