K.Tech Award Returns and Seeks Technology Entrepreneurship

Registration is open for the K.Tech Prize, the technological aspect of the Acredita Portugal Entrepreneurship Competition, developed in partnership with the consultant KCS iT for the fourth consecutive year.

The initiative is part of Montepio Acredita Portugal, Portugal’s largest entrepreneurship competition and the second largest worldwide, and awards ideas and projects that span various sectors and economic and social areas. The K.Tech Prize received in its last edition
about 1,700 applications.

Entries can be submitted online, free of charge, until the
March 1, 2020 through the site believesaportugal.pt.
This Competition aims to support anyone with a business idea, regardless of their age, educational background and location in the country, by supporting promising projects with specialized know-how for their development and evaluation. The best projects have direct contact with investors, experts and mentors, as well as access to personalized training and the opportunity to join a pre-acceleration program.

Prize winners will be supported by KCS iT for their entry into the market by awarding a time grant for implementing PMI best practices.

Tiago Farinha, Managing Director of KCS iT, underscores the relevance of this partnership with the realization that “the quality of the projects received in the last editions of the K.Tech Prize point to an extraordinary motivation of national entrepreneurs and the quality of their value propositions for the project. Fernando Fraga, Director of Innovation at Acredita Portugal, explains that “we have set up in partnership with KCS iT an award dedicated to technology applied to traditional Portuguese industrial sectors, industries that already exist but need to be updated, enabling the creation of businesses. larger scale, more sustainable and knowledge-preserving. Technology is not the goal but it is the way to get there. The added value of technology and what we do with KCS iT is to take technology where it is not already present and to be able to develop new solutions for traditional industry sectors and take them to a new level of growth. ”

In a selection path that begins with market and business model analysis, candidates go through successive stages of development, from marketing and financial plans to pitch presentation of the project.

All contest participants are awarded thanks to Acredita Portugal’s network of partners who invest in Portuguese entrepreneurs. Among all the awards given (participants,
finalists and winners), there are over € 500,000 in service awards to support needs when it comes to the go-to-market.
