Ka Baird | MUSICBOX Lisbon, 28 October 2019

North American artist/performer Ka Baird is returning to Portugal in October.
10:30 pm | € 10

This time, in his own name after being in our country as the opening act of Josephine Foster’s last tour.

This concert at Musicbox will serve for Ka Baird to introduce us to his new album Respires to be released soon.

Ka Baird was noted for her contributions to artists such as Andrew Fitzpatrick (in the Azha project), Camilla Padgitt-Coles (in the Tropical Rock project) or Taralie Peterson (in the Spiers That in the Sunset Rises project).

Solo has edited to this day the albums See Sun Think Shadow (2015), A Love Supreme (2016) and Sapropelic Pycnic (2017). Their performances have already been performed in theaters, clubs, galleries and museums.

Cases of the latter, for example, the Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago) and MoMA PS1, or at festivals such as TUSK (Newcastle, UK), Incubate (Tilburg, Netherlands), KRAAK (Brussels, Belgium), Le Guess Who ( Utrecht, Netherlands), and the Festival Of Endless Gratitude (Copenhagen, DK).

Ka Baird has also been artist residency at venues such as Experimental Sound Studio (Chicago, IL) and Pioneer Works (Brooklyn).

Live, Ka Baird is distinguished by the multiplicity of instruments/rhythms, sound bases used. In a mix of improvisation and pre-recorded music.

This same statement may be reductive, but in the case of Ka Baird, the concerts are really unique, unrepeatable.
