League of clubs will help Angola create its own league in 2020

The Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) will collaborate with the Angolan federation (FAF) to create the Angolan League, an “old desire” for football in that country, the Portuguese organization said in a statement today.

In Luanda, LPFP and FAF signed a memorandum that aims to implement the competition as early as 2020, at a meeting attended by Pedro Proença, president of the Portuguese organization, and Artur de Almeida e Silva, leader of the local federation.

It is a challenge embraced together with the FAF, which involves the exchange of experiences and know-how.” In January, two to four FAF staff will complete a probationary period at the LPFP to learn what we are doing, ” said Pedro Proença.

The director explained that a “work team will be created to directly support the creation of a commission for the installation of the future Angola League” and that the LPFP will have “total readiness to give all the support in the definition of sustainable management and financial model “.

LPFP enters a market with 30 million consumers and fans of Portuguese football,” said Proença.

For its part, the FAF announced the creation of a technical commission to work directly with the LPFP on “administrative and strategic development issues, in order to understand how the Portuguese professional football organization operates in its various areas of activity.
