Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra returns to the shows this month
The concerts will take place on the 20th, at the Teatro Municipal Joaquim Benite, in Almada, and the next day, at the Grand Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Belém, in Lisbon, which reopens symbolically, only for guests.
The current OML season already foresaw these concerts but the repertoire has been completely changed, more restrained, to adjust to the demands of the stage.
Two pieces will be performed, without interval: Concerto for piano and orchestra nº 4, by Beethoven, with pianist António Rosado, and symphony nº 4, known as ‘Italiana’, by Mendelssohn, composed in 1833.
As for the next season of the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Pedro Amaral said that it will be presented at the beginning of September, and that it will open on the 20th of that month, at CCB, with a composition by Mahler.
