Lloyd Cole’s concert at Casa da Música already sold out

But there are still some tickets for April 29 at Casino Estoril

Lloyd Cole is back in Portugal, a country that has always known how to celebrate his music.

The classics that the English composer signed at the beginning of his career with Commotions were ubiquitous on our radio playlists in the 80s and since he launched solo with a homonymous album in 1990, Cole has never stayed too long away from our country, having established a solid stage reputation here.

Now, in addition to the classics collected in the last 35 years of a prolific career that has given us one of the best pop songbooks – from “Lost Weekend” to “Brand New Friend” or “No Blue Skies” – Lloyd Cole brings us a new set of songs that come together on his 12th solo album, Guesswork, which is about to be released.

On this album, with a pop and electronic character that brings him closer to some of the terrain covered, for example, by the Pet Shop Boys, Lloyd Cole reunites with old comrades like Blair Cohen, from Commotions, or Fred Maher, the elite drummer he played, for example, with Lou Reed.

It will be, for all reasons, a special concert, with the songs of a true master of words and those of now, those in which he reflects on the point of life to which time has brought him. He says: “I’m beginning to think that old age can be a lot more fun than middle age because, in fact, what do we have to lose?
