Return to the nineteenth century with demonstrations of crafts of the time, shows of gastronomic products, military maneuvers, eighteenth-century ball and recreation of field dinner;
Lots of street entertainment, concerts, workshops, Napoleonic games, and theatrical performances.
On July 19, 20 and 21, Vimeiro will celebrate the victory of the historic Battle of 1808, which would mark the end of the first French invasion and ensure Portugal’s independence by organizing its Historical Recreation & Eighteenth Century Market.
This journey back in time, which starts on Friday the 19th at 7:00 pm, will bring to Lourinhã a wide range of themed activities in a space illustrated in the nineteenth century, namely, street entertainments, concerts, various workshops, gastronomic products and demonstration of crafts. Among the most anticipated moments are the historical recreations of the battle, the 19th-century ball, the field dinner, and multiple concerts and theatrical performances throughout the event.
In addition to Historical Recreation, the weekend is marked by the Eighteenth Century Market, which takes visitors to travel 200 years in time. In this Market, visitors will be able to experience the daily life of the time through the tasting and purchase of characteristic gastronomic products, as well as to know various activities and crafts typical of the century. XIX. Professions such as barter, foundry, weaving, and dying will be represented by the hands of the animators of the event, as well as various demonstrations of military maneuvers and war games of the Napoleonic Period.
