The Government of Macao has announced scholarships for master’s and doctoral degree programs at Portuguese universities to promote the diversification of qualified bilingual staff in the Chinese and Portuguese languages.
In total, the Macao authorities make 11 vacancies available, according to a statement from the local Talent Development Commission.
The three annual vacancies for master’s degree at the University of Coimbra will have as priority the courses in Portuguese Language, Finance, Tourism, Tourism Industry and Exhibitions and Information Technologies, and there will be “a maximum of two annual vacancies of financial support for courses in Portuguese. PhD, and a maximum of six vacancies for Masters courses “in the other universities of Portugal affiliated to the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities, read in the statement.
Masters students will receive an annual grant of 58,000 patacas (6,400 euros) and for doctoral students the funding will be 80,000 patacas (8,800 euros), with a maximum grant period of up to three years.
