“Mais respeito que sou tua mãe!” back in Lisbon

On the next 5th of April, it is 10 years since Joaquim Monchique and the cast of “Mais respeito que sou tua mãe!” (More respect that I am your mother!) took the stage for the first time with the show, which returns to Lisbon on the 5th of March.

More than 350 presentations – 150 of which are completely sold out – and 130 thousand spectators later, “Mais respeito que sou tua mãe!” confirms, for those who still have doubts, that it is a success that is here to stay!

The most desperate family mother and housewife in Baixa da Bath and Portugal are back in this new version of “Mais respeito que sou tua mãe!“. Esmeralda Bartolomeu continues her struggle for survival in the chaos of a family bosom where she has to deal with an unemployed husband who is only attached to football; an 80-year-old father-in-law as or more addicted to marijuana than his youngest son; a teenage daughter with more developed (and resourceful) sexual behaviour than yours; and an older son who is gay, and then he ceases to be … and then he goes back to … and then he ceases to be again!

Joaquim Monchique wears the skin of Esmeralda Bartolomeu and also signs the staging and adaptation of one of the most successful plays in Argentina, by Hernán Casciari. In Portugal, the show has already been seen by more than 130 thousand people.
