On the day that marks the third week of social isolation, McCann Lisboa symbolically changes its name and changes its name to WeCann Portugal, a change made at the initiative of McCann in Portugal and which aims to send a message of hope to all Portuguese.
‘WeCann stay at home’, ‘WeCann work from home,’ WeCann play at home, ‘WeCann watch films and chill’, ‘WeCann make our own bread’, ‘WeCann overcome this’ and ‘WeCann and we will!’ Are now some of the messages that can be seen in all communication channels of the advertising agency, only at national level, including on the facade of the headquarters in Lisbon. Overcoming messages that will feed the brand’s social networks throughout this period and that convey a greater meaning: not only can, but we should!

“As a grandson, father, son, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin and friend, my role is to protect. As a businessman, boss, entrepreneur, colleague and citizen, too. It is not up to us individually to resolve the health crisis. It is only up to us not to aggravate, to protect those for whom we feel responsible and to protect the health system beyond what is inevitable ”, says Luís Pereira Santos, CEO of Agora WeCann Portugal.
With this message the ‘new’ WeCann Portugal reinforces that together, even at a distance, we can and will overcome this unique moment in our history, but for that it is necessary for each one to do their part.
“As advertisers and marketers, it is still up to us to understand how this pandemic is changing our lives, confronting us with new needs, and how we can mitigate them here. In these weeks that have passed, our personal space needs are more evident, because we live in the confines of our homes; our needs to maintain social relationships, because life makes more sense when it is shared; our needs for stability, because a pandemic does not allow us to envision a clear future and our needs for confidence and soul strength, because we need to know how to get that reserve that we keep for the difficult times ”, says Luís Pereira Santos.
It is in this spirit of mutual assistance that We Cann Portugal sends this symbolic message of hope: WeCann and We Will!
