Men’s Table Tennis Conquers Bronze

Portugal, at the II European Games in Minsk, won the bronze medal in the men’s table tennis tournament with a 3-1 victory over Denmark.

Tiago Apolónia and João Monteiro defended the title won in the first edition in Baku, defeating the Danish with triumphs in pairs, with 3-0 (11-6, 11-5 and 11-4) and individual, by João Monteiro, by 3-1 (6-11, 11-8, 11-8 and 11-4), and Marcos Freitas, by (11-4, 9-11, 11-7 and 12-10).

Denmark still managed a draw in the second meeting with Jonathan Groth’s 3-1 win over Marcos Freitas (11-9, 11-13, 11-7 and 11-7).

This is the second medal in table tennis, after the medal of the athlete Fu Yu, in the competition of female singular.
