Metro de Lisboa joins Mobility Week with several initiatives

Metropolitano de Lisboa will join the European Mobility Week, tarting on Sunday.

With initiatives such as exhibitions or games for children, with the aim of “encouraging the use of public transport as a structural means” in the capital.

The European Mobility Week is this year dedicated to multimodality in the transport sector, with the slogan “Combine and Move”.

On Monday, at the Marquês de Pombal station, an exhibition will open that aims to alert customers to “less correct behavior in the use of the service.”

With the title “Remember: the Metro is everyone’s”, the exhibition wants to promote citizenship and to appeal to good practices in the use of the metro.

At the Alameda station, Metropolitano will be offering “vouchers” for “promoting cycling” on Wednesday.
Initiative jointly with other entities, but on which the company does not advance further details.

Next Saturday, to close the Mobility Week, activities are more directed to children and families.
With games on the Metro that will run next to the Avenida station, on the public promenade of Avenida da Liberdade.

A total of 50 countries, including Portugal, will meet from Sunday onwards a European Mobility Week, under the motto “Combine and Move”.
An initiative that ends in 22 with the European Day without Cars.

According to the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), this year’s edition will have the largest Portuguese participation ever, with the adhesion of 84 municipalities and 87 localities.
To promote shared mobility solutions and highlight the benefits of the most environmentally friendly transport facilities.
