The launch of the 11th edition of the Hong Kong Macau Michelin Guide will take place on December 11 in Macau, the organization announced.
After the 2017 edition, also presented in Macao, the guide will show “once again the strength and quality of the local culinary scene,” according to a statement.
The Hong Kong Macau Michelin Guide was launched in 2009 and the last edition awarded ratings to 18 of the 65 restaurants referenced in Macau. In Hong Kong, the Guide included 227 restaurants.
In the presentation of the 2017 edition, the international director of the Michelin Guides, Michael Ellis, expressed his satisfaction with the vitality of the culinary activity.
“Ten years after our first selection for Hong Kong and Macau, we are pleased to see the vitality of the culinary activity: the number of star restaurants has tripled,” he said.
The official highlighted the “unique identity of Macao, a cross between West and East, especially reflected in Macanese cuisine.”
