“Noites F” concerts resumed, to celebrate the F Festival in Faro, with the heavy metal band Moonspell
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]etween the opening night, with Diogo Piçarra, and the closing night, with Miguel Araújo, there is humor with César Mourão, Herman José and Salvador Martinha; magic with Luís de Matos; and lots of music: from the pops of Aurea, Agir, D.A.M.A and Fernando Daniel, to the heavy metal of the Moonspell or the hip-hop of Piruka, passing by the special shows, in duet, by Tiago Nacarato & Bárbara Tinoco and Carolina Deslandes & Jimmy P, until the concerts of António Zambujo, Os Quatro e Meia, Pedro Abrunhosa, Sérgio Godinho, The Black Mamba and Xutos & Pontapés, these 20 shows celebrate the reunion between the public and the artists, with their eyes set on the F of Future.
Moonspell are a Portuguese metal band created in Lisbon in 1992 with the frontman Fernando Ribeiro, who has already collected 12 studio albums, the last “1755” being the best selling Heavy Metal album in Portugal between 2017 and 2018, and were yesterday, Thursday, at the “F Nights” of Festival F in Faro.

“1755” is a Metal root record with vibrant riffs, epic orchestrations, and voices and lyrics that testify to the agony of that day. The band was also concerned with recreating the time, with a fusion with percussive and melodic elements that refers to the end of the century and the atmosphere that was experienced in the Portuguese capital at the time.
After having embarked on their biggest tour ever in 2019, with 53 concerts in just 2 months, Moonspell face this year so atypical and so hard for the whole world, with their usual workforce and are very active and, above all, creative.
In addition to some shows carefully scheduled and which become possible to perform, respecting the preventive measures of Covid 19, the band takes the opportunity to collect and compose a new album of originals, with a release date scheduled for February 2021, year in which will return to the road in force from April.

The result of the collective’s work in the rehearsal room remains shrouded in mystery. So far it is only known that the band designates their new work with the letter H and that it will be recorded in England by Jaime Gomez Arelliano, a producer who worked, among others, with Paradise Lost, Ulver or Ghost. The new album will no longer feature the participation of Mike Gaspar, who has since left the band, and in his place will be drummer Hugo Ribeiro, with whom the group has already started to collaborate, having made his debut in the recording of the program ELÉCTRICO – Temporada 2.
At the concert, which started at 10 pm at Largo da Sé in Faro, we heard themes that cover the entire career of the band such as “Everything Invaded” from the album “The Antidote” from 2003, “Scorpian Flower” from the album “Night Eternal” from 2008, “The Future Is Dark” from “Extinct” of 2015 and of course songs from his last album “1755” sung in Portuguese, from 2018.

Next this week we have D.A.M.A today, followed by Herman José and Pedro Abrunhosa until Sunday.
The following week we will have Fernando Daniel opening, Xutos & Pontapés, Agir and The Black Mamba. Then it will be the turn of Sérgio Godinho, Carolina Deslandes & Jimmy P, Luís de Matos and António Zambujo.
In the last week of Festival F, it will be the turn of Salvador Martinha, Tiago Nacarato & Bárbara Tinoco, Piruka and Miguel Araújo to take the stage.
On ‘Noites F’, the 20 shows that symbolically celebrate Festival F are taking place at Largo da Sé, which traditionally hosts the Sé Stage, with the remaining stages and spaces of the festival, Quintalão, Museum, Ria, Fábrica, Formosa, Sé cloisters, among others, waiting for 2021 to start receiving music, fine arts, workshops, new circus, theater, humor, and gatherings, in a rich and diversified program that has continued to grow over 6 editions.
The ‘Noites F’ seek to help to keep the spirit of Festival F alive, at a time when artists and the Portuguese most need culture and entertainment to face the challenges brought by the pandemic positively and with hope. ‘Noites F’ is an initiative of the Municipality of Faro, the Municipal Theater of Faro, S.M., Ambifaro, and the producer Sons em Trânsito.
