Mozambique launches online cultural initiatives to support artists

The initiative results from a partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the bank Absa Mozambique, the company Mozambique Telecom (Tmcel) and the gallery of the Port of Maputo.

Arte no Quintal” is an alternative to support artists, since due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus, they cannot continue with the same pace of productivity, added the minister.

The different artistic manifestations, including music, comedy, literature, visual arts and cinema, will be broadcast on weekends, through the platforms Facebook, Youtube and Instagram, involving artists from all over the country.

In the first phase, which begins on the 16th, 12 concerts and programs will be held, involving 150 people, including artists and production technicians, subject to compliance with security and prevention measures against covid-19.
