The Municipality of Bragança will temporarily host homeless people as part of the implementation of a Contingency Plan for people at risk during the pandemic prevalence caused by COVID – 19.
The creation of Temporary Alternative Accommodation, promoted by the Municipality of Bragança, in partnership with public entities and IPSS, is an emergency social response, with a view to avoiding or mitigating the severe exclusion to which this risk group is exposed, especially during the situation current experience across the country, due to COVID – 19.
To this end, protocols were signed between the Municipality of Bragança, the District Center of Bragança of the Social Security Institute, the Associação Mutorros Mútuos dos Artistas de Bragança and the Association Reaprender a Viver, and four accommodation agreements with homeless people.
In order to “take advantage” of this social measure, the beneficiaries, who are homeless (homeless) and live in a situation of serious economic need and unable to ensure a decent housing solution, have committed themselves to a set of obligations.
The Municipality of Bragança and the other partner entities, however, are responsible for ensuring temporary and temporary accommodation; psychosocial support and monitoring; payment of operating expenses of the accommodation, such as electricity, water and gas; cleaning services for bed linen and daily food services.
