NASA created game to help save coral reefs

NASA created an online game with the goal of saving coral reefs, a game that serves to ask Internet users to help identify them from images collected by the American space agency.

Named NeMO-Net, this game is currently present on Mac and iOS and will soon be available for Android. The goal in helping NASA classify these corals is to train the agency’s computer to recognize them, which will be able to follow the evolution of these ecosystems.

“NeMO-Net takes advantage of the most powerful force on the planet: not a powerful camera or supercomputer, but people. Anyone, even a first-year student, can play this game and organize this data to help us map some of the most beautiful forms of life we know ”, can be read in the NASA statement.
