National Team Won World Champion Underwater Photography in ‘Fish’ CategoryUnderwater photography in the category ‘Fish’ of the duo Fotografo – Rui Bernardo and model/assistant – Sónia Bernardo were world champions, in the competition that took place in Tenerife, Canary Islands, was announced today by the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities.
In a statement, the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities – FPAS, said that the three teams that represented Portugal in the XVII World Championship of Underwater Photography “stepped on the podium in the categories ‘Fish’, ‘Theme’ and ‘Wide Angle’“.
The duo Rui Bernardo and Sónia Bernardo won a gold medal in the ‘Fish’ category, while in the ‘Theme’ category the photographer – Rui Palma and model/assistant Carla Siopa won the silver medal, and also the bronze medal at ‘Wide Angle’ category.
“The five categories in the competition were ‘Fish’, ‘Close Up’, ‘Theme’, ‘Wide Angle’ and ‘Wide Angle with Diver’, three of which were won by the national team. Ricardo José, President of the Portuguese Federation of Activities Underwater, congratulates the Portuguese teams for the medals won, “said the statement from the Federation.
Portugal was represented in this XVII World Championship, in Spain, with two teams of photography and another team of video.
