Uber has determined that, as of May 18, all drivers and users of the company’s service will have to use the appropriate protections.
The rules will require that drivers have to wear face masks, and have to prove to Uber that they are using a selfie.
Passengers will have to respond before booking a trip if they have adequate protection. If any party fails to provide protection, it is possible to cancel the trip without any penalty.
Drivers and passengers who repeatedly violate mask-wearing policies risk losing access to Uber.
The rule will continue until the end of June in all markets where Uber is present.
