The World Academy is proud to have a staff of teachers who were pioneers in Portuguese music and who still help to define Portuguese culture today.
Before this team, it is not surprising that we are presented with NewSoundsNewGrounds – a compilation of the musical works of the World Academy Music Creation and Production classes of 2020 that can conquer new territories in Music. This results in an interesting mix of styles, from Indie Rock to Electronica, to Hip-Hop and Ambience.
NewSoundsNewGrounds is part of the World Music 2020 Production and Promotion class initiative – Rita Bravo, João Gonçalves, Miguel Berger, Eduardo Oliveira, Ana Simões, André Condeça, Pedro Ribeiro and João Tristany.
He had the technical and production support of Fernando Abrantes (former member of the German experimental band Kraftwerk and renowned producer) and the editorial guidance of Alexandre Cortez (cultural programmer and musician for Rádio Macau, currently the creator of the successful “Portugal Slam”) and Luís Varatojo (producer and musician of Peste & Sida, currently author and producer in the project «Luta Livre»).
The NewSoundsNewGrounds compilation is available on all digital platforms. The theme “Where’s Mafalda?” performed by Tiago Barrento is the presentation single.
