Announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The Ethiopian Prime Minister received the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to establish peace with neighbouring Eritrea.
The 2019 Nobel Peace Prize went to the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The announcement was made this Friday. The Ethiopian leader was laureate for his efforts to establish peace and achieve international cooperation, particularly with neighbouring Eritrea.
The Nobel Committee also stressed the work Abiy Ahmed has been doing internally in Ethiopia, highlighting the reforms implemented in the country that “give citizens hope for a better life and a brighter future”.
