One week to go until Luísa Sobral’s concert at Teatro da Trindade

Luísa Sobral takes the stage of the Teatro da Trindade INATEL, in Lisbon, next Tuesday, October 6th at 9:00 pm. The public is invited to bring non-perishable food that will be collected by União Audiovisual to be distributed by professionals in the sector of cultural events who are in a situation of greater vulnerability.

Luísa Sobral is getting ready to end the tour of her latest album ‘Rosa‘ with a special and intimate concert at Teatro da Trindade INATEL. It will be the last opportunity to see live the presentation of an album that offered us unforgettable themes such as ‘Maria do Mar’, ‘O Melhor Presente’ and ‘Só Um Beijo’, the breathtaking duet with Salvador Sobral.

On stage Luísa will be accompanied by the formation that in the last two years has enchanted audiences: with Manuel Rocha on guitar and voice and a trio of woodwinds composed by Gil Gonçalves on the tuba, Ângelo Caleira on the horn and Sérgio Charrinho on the flugelhorn.

Luísa Sobral is one of the most important composers and singers of the new generation of Portuguese musicians. It debuted in 2011 with ‘The Cherry on My Cake’, followed by ‘There’s A Flower in My Bedroom’ (2013) – with guests like Jamie Cullum, António Zambujo and Mário Laginha – the children’s album ‘Lu-Pu-I-Pi-Sa-Pa’ (2014) and ‘Luísa’ (2016) which was recorded in Los Angeles, by the prestigious American producer Joe Henry and in which Mark Ribot participates on guitars.

In 2018 she edited ‘Rosa‘ produced by Catalan Raul Refree. Performed in national and international venues and festivals – Australia, Germany, Spain, USA, Italy, Japan, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden, Uruguay, Israel, Turkey, etc. – such as WOMADelaide, Barcelona Jazz Festival, La Mar de Música em Cartagena, the London Jazz Festival, Cully Jazz and SXSW in Texas.

Over the past few years, Luísa has seen her side as a composer enhanced: in addition to composing the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017, with the theme ‘Amar aos Dois’ performed by her brother Salvador Sobral, she has written regularly for artists such as Ana Moura, António Zambujo, Carolina Deslandes, Marco Rodrigues, Mayra Andrade, Sara Correia, among others.
