Ornatos Violeta in MEO Mares Vivas, Gaia

Ornatos Violeta performed at MEO Mares Vivas this Saturday, July 20, in Gaia.

Twenty years after the “Monstro Precisa de Amigos”, the band from Porto returned to the stage and had a sea of people waiting for them.

It was precisely with a song from the first album that Ornatos began the show at 00.00: “Um Crime à Minha Porta“, Manel Cruz’s band jumped between albums and on stage, and when they bumped into “Ouvi Dizer“, mobile phones rose and overtook a crowded room that was homesick. That’s when Carlão came in to recite the spoken part of a single that everyone knows by heart. Carlão stayed for another special moment, the interpretation of “Casa (Vem Fazer de Conta)“, a theme that Da Weasel recorded with Manel Cruz on the album “Re-Definições“, 15 years ago.

With an alignment that went through the indispensable “Chaga”, “O.M.E.M.” and “Dia Mau“, Ornatos Violeta return to the album “Cão!” with “A Dama Do Sinal“, before the first farewell, with “Capitão Romance”.

The audience was surrendered but did not want to let the band leave, there were three encores, the band left three times only to come back again, Manel Cruz could only say “thank you” with a full heart.

Ornatos gave everything, playing at home, to the ones who waited hours for a moment that will be eternal. They said goodbye in a leap of tears that didn’t mean goodbye. Maybe it’s not the end.
