Filipa Vieira was born in Lisbon and Fado was always present in her life.
Since she was little, her father sang fados to her at bedtime, and at the age of 11, she debuted in public. “All of this is Fado” and “Lenda Fonte” were the first fados he sang. He remembers that he forgot the lyrics, but the episode only gave him more determination and courage to defend his vocation on stage. He considers Amália Rodrigues the greatest fado star, it is in Beatriz da Conceição that he finds a personal reference.
Since then, Filipa Vieira has frequented the circuit of typical fado houses, associations and local communities, balancing artistic life with an academic and professional career in the field of Marketing.
At the age of 18, he was part of the cast of the musical show of the Portuguese cinema classic “A Canção de Lisboa”, by Filipe La Féria, taken to the scene at the Teatro Politeama. It was his first experience, very remarkable for having worked with important figures of national cultures, such as the fado singer Fernanda Baptista, Manuela Maria, Anabela and, of course, Filipe La Féria.
Filipa Vieira’s inventive, curious and bold spirit led her in 2013 to join the cast of the show “Tablao de Fado”, a mix of contemporary dance, flamenco and fado, directed by Alexandra Batáglia at Teatro Ibérico, in Lisbon.
Exploration without prejudice has always been part of the construction of his artistic identity, and it was in his adolescence that he was seduced by more electronic and experimental sounds.
Filipa Vieira now materializes her imaginary and artistic path in a unique view of the world and the female figure.
“Passo Apressado” is the first advance for the project “Mesa de Freiras”, which will be published soon. Filipa takes her Fado on an experimental foray, a path she takes accompanied by producer Tiago Pais Dias.
“Accelerated Step” is now available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music.
