Pedro Sousa in the Meerbusch tournament final
Pedro Sousa, first in the ranks and 148th in the world rankings, came in just over two hours to secure his second appearance in a challenger’s final this year.
The Portuguese tennis player qualified today for the Meerbusch ‘challenger’ tournament in Germany, beating Spaniard Carlos Tabernero 4-6 6-3 6-4.
Sousa, 31, secured his second appearance at the Meerbusch final in Germany after the triumph in Blois, France in June.
The final of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday, the Portuguese will face Serja Pedja Krstin, 24 years old and number 239 in the world.
