Pedro Sousa prepares for the semi-finals of the ‘challenger’ of Guayaquil

Portuguese tennis player Pedro Sousa has qualified for the semi-finals of the Guayaquil challenger in Ecuador today, beating Argentina’s Facundo Arguello in two sets.

The Spaniard, 124th in the world, beat the Argentine, 245th, by 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 in an hour and 51 minutes.

In order to reach the second consecutive final, after losing at the decisive meeting in Lima last week, Sousa will have to overcome the winner of the meeting between Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas, first seed and Belgian Arthur de Greef.
