Pedro Sousa qualifies for Tampere challenger quarterfinals

Portuguese tennis player Pedro Sousa, first seed, qualified today for the quarter-final of Tampere’s challenger in Finland, with Gastão Elias being eliminated in the third round.

Against Russian Ivan Nedelko, 542th in ATP ranking, Pedro Sousa, 113th, needed only 50 minutes to win 6-1 6-0.

In the next round, the Portuguese number two will meet the winner of the match between Argentine Federico Coria, the seventh seed, and Frenchman Sadio Doumbia.

Gaston Elias, 322th in the world, lost to Slovenian Blaz Rola, 161st, 6-1 and 6-4 in an hour and 21 minutes.
