Penafiel cancels 2020 edition of Agrival

According to a statement from the municipality, it is the first time that that annual event has not been held since its first edition in 1980.

The organizing entity points out that, after an assessment of the exceptional conditions and the uncertainty arising from the moment that we are currently experiencing, the necessary conditions for the holding of the Agrival Fair, next August, are not met.

Agrival usually brings together in the exhibition pavilion of that city in the district of Porto, in an area of around 25 thousand square meters, hundreds of exhibitors from various sectors of activity, with prevalence for the agrifood.

In the last editions, the fair was visited by around 100 thousand people. In 2019 it recorded a turnover of 10 million euros.

According to the organization, the 2021 edition should take place from August 20 to 29.
