Peru beats Chile and plays Copa America final with Brazil

And 44 years later, Peru returns to the final.

Peru qualified 44 years later for the Copa América final in soccer, in which they will play host Brazil, beating Chile’s 3-0 winners in Porto Alegre on Wednesday.

Edison Flores, at 21 minutes, Yoshimar Yotún at 38, and Paolo Guerrero at 90+1 sealed the triumph of the Peruvians, who will play the second final of their history and look for their third title, after those conquered in 1939, edition without end, and 1975.

In the decisive game, Argentina’s Ricardo Gareca’s side will face Brazil, a team that in the first phase thrashed the Peruvians 5-0 and in the first semi-final beat Argentina 2-0, remaining in the race to the ninth title in the proof.
