Piaget debates youth and adult education challenges

The Piaget Institute is organizing this Thursday, November 12, a virtual round table dedicated to the theme “Education of Youth and Adults: challenges and perspectives”. The event held within the scope of Piaget Digital Talks is scheduled to start at 9.15 pm and can be followed live through the Institute’s Facebook page.

In debate will be issues such as teaching methods and strategies, namely those aimed at adult education, and student loyalty in distance learning, focusing on the strategies used by teachers to motivate them and the challenges faced by professionals in the field. Education and training.

The discussion will be extended to the various initiatives aimed at promoting the widening of access to education in order to attract non-traditional students, including adults returning to education. “Who are they? What are your perspectives? What led them to abandon regular, professional or higher education?”, These will be questions to be analyzed by the speakers, together with the profile of teachers and trainers of young people and adults, as well as their role in the current context.

The guest panel of the virtual round table is comprised of Alda Bernardes, PhD in Education, specialist in adult education and training, and coordinator of the Masters in Education at the Piaget de Almada Institute; Catarina Paulos, also with a PhD in education and specialist in adult education and training; and Paula Valente, trainer and coordinator of training activities at IEFP at the Employment and Professional Training Center of Leiria.

Aimed mainly at teachers, trainers, social educators and human resources technicians, the online meeting is also a good opportunity for all those interested in educational issues to participate in the debate, for which they must register in advance for the event on the Piaget Institute website.
