Due to the pandemic of the new Covid-19 worldwide, the FIA - International Automobile Federation was obliged to undertake a complex management in the planning of events that were postponed or canceled.
In view of the current situation, scheduled to happen in Brazil, the FIA Karting World Championship, for the OK and OK Junior categories, had to happen in a new location.
FPAK, together with Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve and AIA Motor Clube expressed to FIA their willingness to organize the event on the 5th to 8th of November, and the organization happily said agreed!
“The Kartódromo de Portimão is one of the best karting tracks in Europe and, when we realized the need for the FIA to reschedule the competition, we proposed to Eng. Paulo Pinheiro to host the event. All efforts were made to be able to guarantee the event later this year. I think which in the current situation turns out to be good news. We hope, at that time, to have the sporting activity going on normally, always with the reservations made by the health authorities“, said Ni Amorim, President of FPAK.
