Portugal beat England 3-2 on Wednesday in the second round of the Toulon International Football Tournament in France, with their first win of the competition.
After losing 1-0 in the opening round against Chile, the formation led by Filipe Ramos was able to add up to three points in Group A thanks to Marcos Nascimento (21), Gonçalo Cardoso (39) and Félix Correia (42), after the titleholders moved up to the eight-minute drive by Eddie Nketiah, and narrowly close to the end (87) via Joe Willock.
In the same group, Japan beat Kaoru (07), Hatate (12, 18 and 63) and Iwasaki (39 and 45 + 1) in a 6-1 win against Chile, access to the next phase. For the Chileans, Araos scored the only goal in the 35th minute.
On Friday, the formation of the ‘quinas’ faces precisely the Japanese in the final round at the Parsemain Stadium in Fos-Sur Mer at 16:00.
