Portugal leads to Berlin Fashion Week sustainable fashion wave

Sustainable fashion Made in Portugal continues to break down barriers, this time bound for Berlin, where it will have a reinforced presence at Neonyt, one of the leading specialty fairs. Marita Moreno, Vintage for a Cause and Zouri will present their latest collections at a fair where the Green Circle sustainability project will also be present.

Increasingly innovative and environmentally responsible, the Portuguese industry will have a prominent presence at Neonyt Berlin, the trade show specializing in sustainable fashion that will take place from 14 to 16 January, within the scope of Berlin Fashion Week.

Marita Moreno, Vintage For a Cause and Zouri are the Portuguese brands that will exhibit at the Berlin Fair, with the support of the Selectiva Moda Association’s From Portugal project. The three Portuguese stands are also joined by a sustainable showcase, organized by the Green Circle project, with a selection of models, entirely created by Portuguese designers, using sustainable materials from the Portuguese industry.

“This event is a reference with regard to the universe of sustainable fashion and not only also act to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability added to technology and innovation,” explains Marita Setas Ferro, CEO & designer of Marita Moreno. The Portuguese brand – which recently won the sustainability award at Momad Madrid – will present in Berlin a new collection of bags, backpacks, shoes and sneakers, made from sustainable materials such as cork, bio-leather, recycled microfiber, among others.

With a similar strategy, Zouri also bets on sustainable and innovative materials to stand out from international markets. “All the materials we use are somehow sustainable. We will present collections of footwear for adults and children, with soles produced from plastics collected on the Portuguese coast. We also work with other responsible materials such as organic cotton, flax, hemp and pinatex, a material made from pineapple residues. ”

This will be a vast exhibition of sustainable products, which will be crowned by another edition of Green Circle. First presented at Modtissimo, at Alfândega do Porto, the project already has a year of presentations at international fairs. At Neonyt you will have the latest models, designed by Portuguese designers, and made from sustainable materials, manufactured by the Portuguese industry and duly certified.
