Portugal rally officially canceled

The organization announced that it had already requested the return of the Rally de Portugal in May 2021.

The race, which was initially scheduled for May 21-24, had already been postponed, with the ACP explaining that it still tried to have it played in “late October”, but that will not happen.

The ACP points out that it is forced to cancel the national stage of the FIA 2020 world rally championship.

The ACP deeply regrets this decision, but it is the only one that could take responsibility responsibly before the thousands of supporters, teams, municipalities, sponsors and everyone involved in the competition, responsible in 2019 for an impact on the national economy of more than 142 million euros .

After the three competitions, Frenchman Sébastien Ogier (Toyota Yaris) leads the World Championship, which also had the Argentine and Sardinian rallies in Italy postponed due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus.
