Dozens of Portuguese festivals are nominated in more than 20 categories of the 5th edition of the Iberian Festival Awards, whose winners will be known in March in Lisbon.
In this edition, the nominees are distributed in 24 categories, to which the Excellence Award is added.
In some categories, the winners are chosen by a jury and in others, the case of Best International Performance and Best Performance Portugal / Spain, by the public.
Prizes will be awarded, among others, for the Best Grand Festival, Best Medium Format Festival, Best Small Format Festival, Best New Festival, Best Poster, Contribution to Sustainability, Best Use of Technology and Best Festivity.
The Best Grand Festival category includes the Portuguese Festival F (Faro), World Music Festival (Sines), Galp Beach Party (Matosinhos), Meo Sudoeste (Odemira), MIMO (Amarante), Musa (Cascais) and North Music Festival. (Port).
In addition to these, among the dozens of named Portuguese festivals, some in more than one category, are also: Bons Sons (Tomar), Neopop (Viana do Castelo), Monte Verde Festival (São Miguel Island, Azores), AgitÁgueda (Águeda ), EDP CoolJazz (Cascais), Tidal Festival (São Miguel Island, Azores), Imminent (Lisbon), Rock in Vila (Vila de Rei), Summer Opening (Madeira Island), Vagos Metal Fest (Vagos), Côa Summer Fest (Vila Nova de Foz Côa), Festival N2 (Chaves), Mucho Flow (Guimarães) and Tradidança (São Pedro do Sul).
Promoted by the Portuguese Association of Music Festivals, the Iberian Festival Awards aim to distinguish the best festivals held in Portugal and Spain.
The award ceremony of the 5th edition of the Iberian Festival Awards is scheduled for March 14, 2020, in Lisbon, as part of the Talkfest – International Music Festivals Forum.
