Portuguese national Priest team revalidates European futsal title

The Portuguese national team has won the European championship, known as the ‘Clericus Cup’, to beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 3-0 in the final of the tournament in Gora, Montenegro.

The Portuguese priests revalidated the European title, winning the competition for the fourth consecutive time, with the priest André Meireles in the final game, pointing out the hat trick that fixed the result.

The national team outperformed Montenegro, Belarus and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the group stage and eliminated Hungary and Poland in the penalty shoot-out to find Bosnia in the final, where they imposed their favoritism.

In this 12th edition of the ‘Clericus Cup’ participated 12 selections of priests from European countries, with Portugal having the best record, with five titles.
