Pedro Morais and Sílvia Coutinho were the big winners of the Oeiras Eco Rally Portugal 2020, which took place between the 3rd and 5th of October.
A victory that resulted from the combination of two classifications: regularity, where the Portuguese team was in seventh place, and consumptions, where the pair achieved second place.
Second place was the Spanish team Txema Foronda and Pilar Rosas, behind the wheel of a Volkswagen e-Golf. The podium was completed with the Opel Corsa-E from the team consisting of driver Artur Prusak and French navigator Thierry Benchetrit.
As only electric vehicles participated in this competition, emissions were zero. However, the event is considered to have negative emissions because the race teams planted trees in the garden of the Marquês de Pombal Palace, which served as the basis for the rally.
The 12 classification specials for this edition took place in Oeiras, Sintra, Serra da Arrábida and the Estoril race track. This is an integrated event in the FIA World Championship. According to the organization, this test goes down in history for having included the first regularity test for electric cars on a closed circuit.
