PSP Symphonic Band takes the stage at São Brás Cineteatro

The São Brás Cineteatro receives this Friday, November 8th, one of the most prestigious, dynamic, versatile and old Portuguese symphonic bands: the Public Security Police (PSP) Symphonic Band. The concert starting at 9.30 pm will be directed by Acting Chief and Subintendent Artistic Director Ferreira Brito.

A show promoted by the Recreational Cultural Association Sambrasense School of Music (ACREMS) and supported by the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel, which will be the most awaited moment of the cultural program “Musical November”. The concert includes the celebrations of the 12th anniversary of the first performance of the São Brás de Alportel Philharmonic Band and the association’s musical and cultural activities.

The concert will be preceded by two didactic concert sessions by the PSP Band Brass Group with Bernardo de Passos Elementary School students, which will take place on Friday afternoon. This action is part of the “A Band Goes to School” project program that is being developed at the José Belchior Viegas School Group, the result of a partnership between ACREMS and the municipality, in favor of the cultural development of the community. The PSP Symphonic Band was officially formed in April 1981.

A young band in character and mature in the scrolls, revealing its historical origin, has always reflected a vanguard position in the
Portuguese artistic movements. The Band has been active for some years now, the PSP Symphonic Band Brass Group.

It promotes Palmo & Meio concerts, aimed at children from six months to six years. The Chamber Trio participates in several protocol ceremonies. Also part of its staff is a duo of Piano and Voice that participates in events of varied nature and has 11 albums with the Dutch label Molenaar.
