Qatar Airways now offers 100 days of free Super Wi-Fi connectivity on board to all passengers, in order to celebrate the more than 100 planes equipped with high-speed broadband.
From September 25 and for the next 100 days, until January 2, 2021, passengers can stay connected to family, friends and colleagues for free via Wi-Fi connectivity on board. Qatar Airways now offers the largest number of planes equipped with high-speed broadband in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
The Executive Chef of the Qatar Airways Group, HE Mr. Akbar Al Baker, says: “During these challenging times, Qatar Airways continues to lead and innovate, providing passengers with the five-star experience they expect from the Best Airline of the World We are pleased to bring high-speed broadband to all our passengers during flights, from departure to arrival.
“This not only shows Qatar Airways’ exceptional service at a time when other airlines are using today’s market challenges as a reason to reduce their Wi-Fi offerings.”
“It also proves that our mission to connect people around the world does not start and end only with travel. We understand the importance, especially in recent months, of allowing people to be always connected, whether on the ground or at 35,000 feet.”
More than 100 Qatar Airways aircraft have been equipped with high-speed Super Wi-Fi service, using the award-winning GX Aviation technology from global mobile satellite communications provider Inmarsat since the service’s launch in 2018.
Qatar Airways passengers on flights equipped with GX Aviation generally receive up to an hour of free access to the Super Wi-Fi service, with the ability to purchase full access if more time is needed online.
Awarded with several awards, Qatar Airways was named Best Airline in the World by the World Airline Awards 2019, managed by Skytrax. It was also named “Best Airline in the Middle East”, “Best Business Class in the World”, and “Best Business Class Seat”, in recognition of its innovative business class experience, Qsuite.
It is the only airline to receive the longed-for title of “Skytrax Airline of the Year”, which is recognized as the pinnacle of excellence in the aviation industry, five times. HIA was recently classified as the “Third Best Airport in the World”, among 550 airports worldwide, by the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2020.
