Rafa-Félix Society returns leadership to the Eagles before the European race

Benfica beat Vitória de Setúbal on Sunday 4-2.

Benfica regained the lead of the national championship this Sunday after beating Vitória de Setúbal 4-2 at Estádio da Luz in the game that ended the 29th round of the competition. Rafa Silva and João Félix were the ‘weapons’ of the game.

Rafa-Félix Society

Bruno Lage’s team came in with everything in the game and even before the first minute, Rafa Silva used across from João Félix to open the scoring.

The stands of the Light were euphoric and the unresponsive sadists: leaning back in their midfield, without offensive volume, and giving space for the Eagles to manage the duel at their pleasure.

Makaridze is not enough for everything …

I was worth Makaridze and his good performance. After denying the goal to Seixal’s young promise (11 ‘), the goalkeeper took Pizzi (28’) ‘s free kick out of the box when he defended a penalty shot by Rúben Micael.

Vasco Fernandes was the ‘ugly duckling’ in the 38th minute. The player gave a ‘home’ and allowed another understanding between Felix and Rafa, without any chance for Makaridze, which was worth several protests from the guardian with his defensive quartet.

… but it seems that Felix did

Benfica did not enter well in the second half, giving plenty of room for the Vitoria de Setúbal to play. However, the formation of Sandro Mendes failed to seize the opportunity to equalize the marker and the ‘usual suspect’ again made his own.

At the 56th minute, João Félix shot past Pizzi to the bottom of Makaridze’s net. A goal that had a special moment: the young pearl was celebrating with one of the match-pickers, his brother, Hugo Félix, who is in the young layers of the club incarnate.

And it did not stop here. If Felix ‘killed’ the game, Seferovic closed the scoring (for Benfica). Around 20 minutes later, with Setúbal ‘ leaning ‘, Haris Seferovic combined with Rafa Silva (77’) and shot for another incarnate goal.

However, there was still room for one more sad goal. Rúben Dias missed Vasco Fernandes within the penalty area, and Cadiz (86 ‘) beat Vlachodimos without difficulty, scoring the 4-2.

From here on, the incarnations have managed a lot of effort, not least because next week Benfica travel to Germany to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

With this 4-2 triumph, the Eagles regain the leadership of the national championship with 72 points. On the other hand, the Vitória de Setúbal maintains the 31 points.
