Rangel is the logistics operator for the special edition of Volta a Portugal 2020

The company will ensure all logistics and transportation for the event

Rangel Logistics Solutions has partnered with the Portuguese Cycling Federation and has been appointed Official Logistics Operator for the special edition of Volta a Portugal em Bicicleta, which will take place between September 27th and October 5th. The Covid-19 pandemic forced the usual edition of Volta a Portugal to be paused and 2020 will feature a special edition consisting of just nine stages, starting in Fafe and ending in Lisbon.

Through a service fully adapted to the specific needs that an event of this nature requires, Rangel ensures all the logistics and transportation of the event, in a Taylor Made operation that has a dedicated team and several years of experience in the logistics management of events and projects special.

With restricted transit times, which requires very demanding management in the coordination of vehicles, resources and time, Rangel ensures all collection and delivery services, some simultaneously, in different cities, throughout the nine stages of the race .

We are a 100% Portuguese company that this year celebrates 40 years of existence, and it makes perfect sense to associate ourselves with one of the most traditional sporting events in our country. Being the official logistical operator of this special edition of Volta a Portugal 2020, is related to our ability to offer specific solutions adapted to the magnitude of this event”, Nuno Rangel, CEO of Rangel Logistics Solutions.

The race starts next Sunday, September 27, in Fafe, with the prologue, then passing through Viana do Castelo, Mondim de Basto, Viseu, Covilhã, Águeda, Torres Vedras, Setúbal and Lisbon, covering a total of 1183.9 kilometers.

Rangel’s support in such a special year has enormous significance. It reveals that the company shares the values of sportsmanship, resilience, determination and the spirit of sacrifice inherent in cycling. This year’s edition is also a challenge from the point of view logistics, with increased demands. Rangel’s support is decisive for the accomplishment of the Tour and for affirming the principle that life goes on, albeit with adaptations. The work of a company, also with experience with the Olympic movement, gives guarantees of quality“, stresses Delmino Pereira, president of the Portuguese Cycling Federation.
